Clean water is the anchor of life.
Without it, life cannot exist. There are many parts of the world where the simple fact of having clean water is a luxury, not a right. Health problems and life threatening illness are the result of this fact, and the children, who are the most vulnerable, are at greatest risk.
Realizing this, it became clear that in order to continue to work with the people of Papoli, the need for clean water must be met. Funds were solicited to build wells throughout the community, to allow access to life giving water.
Currently seven deep-water wells have been dug for the district of Papoli. No single effort has provided more relief for the residents.
Before, only one well served a district of four square miles. Brackish back water was often the only water available. Cases of diarrhea and dysentery plagued the villagers. Wild animal attacks were not uncommon in the act of retrieving water.
With the simple building of these wells, all of this has changed. Now cases of water related diseases are practically non-existent. Distances are much shorter to wells as a result of the seven wells so that wild animal attacks are negligible. Lives have been touched, and changed forever, by these wells.
More wells are needed. Please consider a donation to help provide clean water for those in great need.
