The following are reasons why I am a part of VPI:VPI was founded locally and is made up of people I can personally relate with on a regular basis. The VPI mission purpose and current missions are close to my heart. The mission of aiding struggling villages to improve their health and well being as well as putting them on the track of self sustainability, produces long term positive results withing the village involved. The sometimes simple but very effective changes in a particular village can spread from village to village thus making a significant impact with minimal monitary outlay. This philosophy is very rewarding to me because I can see and possibly get personally involved with the improvements in life styles and changes in the attitudes of the people we are working with. In most cases you can see the positive results of our involvement. The Uganda mission has produced phenonimal results. Following the progress of that village from one of poor health and substandard education to one of the the most progressive and desireable in the area has been an extreemly rewarding experience for me. This story could very well be considered a model for other chaitable organizations to follow. This is pretty amazing considering the lack of professional expertise in this field. The Haiti mission has also been a wonderful success story. It just goes to show you what can be done with God’s guidance and a group of people with a passion for a particular mission or ministry.
Since village involvement can be very personal and hands-on, interactions with the people of the village can lead to lasting personal relationships and a better understanding of their way of life. Individuals involved with VPI can get personally involved with our missions by making mission trips to the sites. This experience can be extremely rewarding and reenergize our passion for the mission. We do get personally involved. This is evidenced by the fact that five of our seven board members have personally visited one or both of our primary mission sites.
VPI has a Christian foundation.
