I wanted to give you an update on the last money you sent down. I feel that donating towards more sustainable development projects will be more helpful than hand out type giving. However, if a specific urgent need arises I’ll help with that. Also it is school time again so I hav given towards several students and am holding some money knowing that with the start of Haitian schools, requests to help with schooling will start.

Schooling money given
Funds to 4 students. Some received partial money for school while 2 received money for the entire year, books and uniforms.

Funds to Teach Haiti. A Haitian/American friend of mine has stared this education innovate in PAP and was needing help purchasing items for the coming school year.

Development projects
Funds to a local coffee cooperative to help growers and vendors produce and market Haitian coffee.

Funds for a corn mill for a local chicken center that will allow it to lower feed costs and purchase corn from local farmers to feed the chickens. The mill will also employ more people.

Funds for a solar water pump for a cooperative that grows threatened and endangered Haitian plants and fruit trees. These will be sold to farmers, individuals and NGO to help with reforestation, production of fruit and sale of ornamental plants that are native to Haiti.

I had planned to buy tarps/tents for people that had theirs destroyed in the recent storm but was able to get free tents from MFI.

God Bless,
Will
