Village Partners International invites you, this Mother’s Day, to honor or remember someone who was a blessing in raising you by making a gift in support of care for struggling mothers and families in the midst of great poverty.
As the Pandemic of Covid-19 blankets the earth, covering all, the vulnerability and fragility of mankind is laid bare. Day after day the stories of tragedy, of pain, of suffering appear before us as our own country reels with this disease.
Fear mingles with anger, gratitude with hope, and we continue on as the planet spins its course.
Yet what of the stories we do not hear?
What of those who live in places with no real help, support or care? Where running water is not available, where washing one’s hands is a luxury, where masks are not heard of, where finding food for one’s children has been the daily constant battle and starvation is often a certainty?
This will worsen in the upcoming months.
This is the reality in Mombin Crochu, Haiti and Papoli, Uganda.
As we combat the reality of the impact this pandemic has made on our own lives, we must remember those who have no one to help them. Those who do not have protection. Those who have no hospital, no ICU, no medication, no ability to face this crisis.
For we are all God’s children, interconnected on this earth by our humanity. And we have been connected to these communities, through God’s hand.
